From National Geographic, “It is utterly surreal,” [Meehan, one of the researchers] said, “to see a spider use such effective hunting strategies to hunt a plant.”

Surreal:  having the disorienting, hallucinatory quality of a dream; unreal; fantastic.

Wouldn’t it be something to watch that guy see how everything lives before and after sin! 😀

From Science Daily, “This research… shows that coevolution between an ant and a plant can result in the development of plant structures that may be especially vulnerable to exploitation by third parties,…”

Hypothetical example of Coevolution

Does their research really show “coevolution?”  Did they watch the tree and ants change to suit each other’s needs, or did they see a fully formed system and assume they must have changed in the past?  It is just as easy, and more logical, to say that a wise, smart Designer God gave the plant directions to make food for the ants that wouldn’t hurt the tree and made the ant wise enough to want to protect its food source.

From Science Net Links, “All this doesn’t mean that the spiders have transformed into social creatures. At their cores, they’re still aggressive hunters. But the circumstances in which they live have created an incentive for them to put their basic instincts aside and live in relative peace with each other.”

Their assumptions are showing again.  Spiders must have started out as aggressive hunters because so many are.  They can’t have begun as all vegetarian because… I don’t know, maybe because that’s what God says they started out as?

Oh, yes, did you see that?  Circumstances are the “real” creator.  They believe in a creator as much as we do, just not a smart one that they are responsible to!

And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’ den.
They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.  Isaiah 11:7-9
